چکیده

7 In this paper, we present an algorithm for the dynamic selection of projection angles in binary tomography. Based on the information present in projections that have already been measured, a new projection angle is computed, which aims to maximize the information gained by adding this projection to the set of measurements. The optimization model used for angle selection is based on a characterization of solutions of the binary reconstruction problem, and a related definition of information gain. From this formal model, an algorithm is obtained by several approximation steps. Results from a series of simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed angle selection scheme is indeed capable of finding angles for which the reconstructed image is much more accurate than for the standard angle selection scheme.

Dynamic Angle Selection in X-ray Computed Tomography

In X-ray tomography, a number of radiographs (projections) are recorded from which a tomogram is then reconstructed. Conventionally, these projections are acquired equiangularly, which intrinsically assumes that the information added by each projection does not depend on the angular spacing. However, especially in case when only a limited number of projections can be acquired, the selection of ...

Neuro-Fuzzy Based Algorithm for Online Dynamic Voltage Stability Status Prediction Using Wide-Area Phasor Measurements

In this paper, a novel neuro-fuzzy based method combined with a feature selection technique is proposed for online dynamic voltage stability status prediction of power system. This technique uses synchronized phasors measured by phasor measurement units (PMUs) in a wide-area measurement system. In order to minimize the number of neuro-fuzzy inputs, training time and complication of neuro-fuzzy ...

DISCRETE TOMOGRAPHY AND FUZZY INTEGER PROGRAMMING

We study the problem of reconstructing binary images from four projections data in a fuzzy environment. Given the uncertainly projections,w e want to find a binary image that respects as best as possible these projections. We provide an iterative algorithm based on fuzzy integer programming and linear membership functions.

Artifacts of Titanium, Zirconium, and Binary Titanium-Zirconium Abutments in Compute Tomography, Cone Beam Computed Tomography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate imaging artifacts induced by Titanium, Zirconium, Titanium-Zirconium abutments in CT, MRI and CBCT imaging modalities. Methods: A 4×8mm titanium fixture was inserted in a dry human mandible. Titanium, Zirconium and Titanium–Zirconium abutments measuring 10.5 mm in height are located on the fixture, one by one. Each abutment was scan...

Binary Tomography with Deblurring

We study two scenarios of limited-angle binary tomography with data distorted with an unknown convolution: Either the projection data are taken from a blurred object, or the projection data themselves are blurred. These scenarios are relevant in case of scattering and due to a finite resolution of the detectors. Assuming that the unknown blurring process is adequately modeled by an isotropic Ga...
